The Responsible Faith

Playing Your Role In Actualising Your Miracle

Any faith that makes God absolute responsible for the outcome of its desire is an irresponsible faith

In the kingdom of Heaven, there are demands upon anyone that desire to experience the blessing of the Kingdom.

Every miracle of faith in the scriptures was a product of active partnership with God. It is basically a faith that act in order to prove that it believes God - “I believe God will do it because I have believed and acted on His Word”

Hear this: there is something you must do for God to step in. Among the numerous definitions of faith, faith can be defined as an active partnership with God in doing the impossible.

God has His part to play and you have your part to play. The bible is not just a book of promises but a book of covenant (that why we have the Old and the New Testament) and the word testament means covenant.

Just like in every covenant, there are demands on the parties involved, the same vein, there is what you must do before you get what is promised.

The confirmed promises of scriptures are products of complying with the demands and instructions of scriptures (Deu 28:1)

A lack of this understanding is the major reason why most Christians are grounded in their Christian lives. They fail to realize that there is a demand behind every promise of scriptures

They expect miracles to happen out of nowhere as if God is a Magician. We serve a covenant God and until you discover His covenant and comply with the demand of this covenant, you can’t see His blessing. Until you part is played, God will not confirm His Word.

It is important to stop waiting for miracle and start working on the demand of His word. The scriptures admonish us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12).

The Mark of Sonship

The Spirit of the Lord said to me some years ago “The mark of a son is responsibility”

A child is always depending and relying on the his parents or other for survival - Give me this, do this, do that” but a matured son and daughter are responsibility driven person - “What must I do ?

Behind the life of any man or woman that commands the outstanding results either in ministry, business or any venture is responsibility, they understand that every result they desire place a demand on them if they must have.

At new birth, we started our journey as children and just like every parent, God permit or overlook our childish behaviours (Gal 4:1-2) but with time, He expect us to grow up and mature into son  and daughter – He expect and demand responsibility from you and I.

But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. (Gal 4:2)

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder…… (Isa 9:6)

Isaiah 9 vs 6 say that the government shall be on His shoulders – this connotes responsibility. This implies that until you become a son, power and responsibility can never entrusted unto you. God will never entrust power to a child or novice lest he be destroyed and according to Roman 8:14, Only son can manifest their power in Christ.

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (1Co 13:11)

Friend, it is time to wake up and take responsibility. According to scriptures – the authentic proof of faith is word provoked action (James 2:16-22)

You never see a man that enjoys divine backing by the operation of faith that doesn’t provoke God by his actions in line with God’s Word. In every faith walk, there is what you must something - action that proves or show that you believe God, for God to step in and confirm His Word. Faith is no cheap talk, it is hard work.

God’s Sending End and Our Receiving End

It is important to understand this principle of God’s Sending End and Man’s Receiving End; it will empower your faith for a flight.

Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle. (Deu 2:24)

Let examine the above verse of scriptures

I have given into thine hand… The scripture said "GIVEN" not "will give" but GIVEN. This implies that God’s part of the deal is completed. Remember Jesus said “IT IS FINISHED”

You may ask “How can you say that God has done His part? Where are my blessings?” Let me show

The Word said in Eph 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath BLESSED US WITH ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS in heavenly places in Christ: (Eph 1:3)

According as his divine power hath GIVEN UNTO US ALL THINGS THAT PERTAIN UNTO LIFE AND GODLINESS, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (2Pe 1:3)

You may ask “where are they?”

In Eph 1:3, the scriptures made us to understand that our blessings In Christ are spiritual; this is because God is a Spirit. Although these blessings have been made available to us, we have a role to play in manifesting this spiritual blessings

In the second part of our main text Deu 2:24, says

….begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

Remember in the first part of that same verse: He said He has given you. This means that God has given you all you need. (2Pe 1:3, Eph 1:3) but you have a role to play in order to receive it.

This truth was also validated in 1Tim 6:12

FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

You must the good fight of faith, if you must lay hold on the package of eternal life.

Why fight for our inheritance?

For a GREAT DOOR AND EFFECTUAL IS OPENED UNTO ME, and THERE ARE MANY ADVERSARIES. (1Co 16:9)

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. (Mat 11:12)

So friend, God has done His part, but you must exercise your faith in order to provoke the release of power that will make every adversaries of your destiny to submit. Christianity is no funfair, it is warfare, wake up and take responsibility.

This principle can also likened to your TV antenna and the TV station. Assume your TV station is broadcasting and you can’t receive the signal, it simply means that your Antenna (receiving end) has a problem.

In the same vein, God’s Sending End is always on but question is this: Is your receiving end working? – Is your faith at work?

It is time to wake up to the demand of scriptures by faith. We understand from God’s Word that the stronghold of Abraham’s faith was obedience – always doing what God says per time.

I encourage you to put childish things away like Paul and take up responsibility.

Behind every promise of scriptures, there is a demand and until your role is played, God is not committed to make good His promise

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: (Deu 28:1)

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: (Isa 1:19)

How to Fight For Your Inheritance

It has been established that God has made available through His Son Jesus Christ all we need for life and godliness and that we have a role to play in order to actualize these spiritual blessings.

This fight of faith is not all about binding and casting devil, either is it all about fighting your neighbour or co-worker or your village people (relatives) that you believe or claim are bewitching you.

No, this fight of faith is essentially standing strong on the promise of God just like Abraham did in order to receive the promise. It is your faith in God's Word that trigger God confirm His Word in your life. It releases the power of God that destroy every barrier in your path.

You understand that your faith in God’s Word is a threat to the devil and its operation. The scriptures made to understand in 1Pet 5:8-9 that devil move about like a roaring lion seeking for whom to devour and it is by being steadfast in the faith that we withstand the devil.

In other words our faith is our ticket to the victory over the devil, that Jesus purchased for us.

In 1John 5:4, the scriptures say

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (1Jn 5:4)

Faith is the weapon we engage to overcome the world – satan and all his demonic activities. Yes God has ordained that His people will triumph and be victorious but the key to that victory is our faith - this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Understand this; whenever satan comes for you, he comes for your faith, because your faith is the only shield you possess against his plan. In Luke 22:31-32, Jesus said to Peter, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not

Jesus didn’t pray against the devil neither did He bind the devil; No, He prayed that Peter’s faith fails not. As far as your faith in God’s Word is alive. Satan’s defeat is guaranteed. His agenda and operation is automatically declared null and void.

He knows this, and that is why He comes for your faith. Yes He has come to steal, kill and destroyed but your faith make his three fold mission is joke. When He came for Jobs, He was attacking Job’s faith and trust in God. He wanted Job to curse God, but bless God, his faith prevailed till the end and he experienced a change of story.

Jesus always said, it is to you according to your faith, He didn’t say it is to you according to what the devil is doing or your enemy is doing but according to your faith, because the just shall live by faith.

Have understood the place of faith in overcoming the devil and accessing the blessing of God for you, How then can one engage his faith

1. Seek for Revelation of His Word

Every biblical faith is word based, it is not based on an experience but on the foundation of God and His Word. Faith begins where the knowledge of word of God begins

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Rom 10:17)

So in this stage, just like David during his fight with Goliath went and picked fine stones. You must engage the Spirit of God in searching scriptures that address the issue you are facing

2. Engage your faith

Faith like any other spiritual gifts must engaged in order to deliver its result. It is not enough to discover the truth, you must release your faith based on the truth you have discovered before you can partake of the blessedness of the truth.

It is faith that empower you and I to become what the word say we are (John 1:12)

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (Joh 1:12)
It is faith that transform the word of God in power, until you believe the word of God, you can’t partake of the blessing of the word (Rom 1:16)
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. (Heb 4:2)

Yes, It is not enough to discover the truth, you must release your faith toward the revealed truth in order for the word to work in your life.

How do you Release your faith?

According to scriptures there are two ways of releasing or exercising our faith

  • The Word of Mouth
  • Our Action

Word of Mouth:

What we say matter to God and it must line with what believe (Mark 11:23, Rom 10:10) You can’t claim to be believe that you victorious and still speak defeat. Your words align with what you believe.

It is important to note that according to scriptures there are two mouths: Outer Mouth (your physical mouth) and Inner Mouth (the thought of your minds)

In Mark 5, concerning the woman with issue of blood, the bible said that she said in her heart. So what you think matter because God is able to do exceeding and abundantly more than we can ask or think of.

Our Word Provoked Action

Your faith start with confession of what you believe, but you mustn’t end there. It must graduate to obedience of faith – that is complying with the demand of the truth of God’s Word that you have believed.

Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. (1Sa 2:3)

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.  (Jas 2:17-18)

3. Fight Till the End

You must keep your faith alive till the promise speaks in your life. Only those that endured till the end shall see the hand of the Lord. The Bible said that Abraham staggered not at the promise of the Lord through unbelief but was strong in faith.

He remain strong in faith despite the evidences around him till he received the promise

It is not enough to release your faith, you must keep at it. You must keep saying, you must thinking and you must keep acting it – whether you feel like it or not.

That confidence or faith in God’s Word must be keep alive until the promise manifest. Your faith is the only evidence you have for what you believe God for. If you lose it, you lose the reward,

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. (Heb 10:35-38)

I pray for that grace be made available to you to endure till the end. Amen

Till Next Time, Remain Blessed

Jesus is Lord
