Your Access to Divine Empowerment

Being In Command By His Word

The importance of divine empowerment cannot be overemphasised, divine empowerment is must for a life of exploits and triumph because our enemy does respond to anything but power, the scriptures in Psa 110:2 said The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luk 10:19)

It takes power to silence the opposition of the devil and what a joy that God has made available for us His power for a life of triumph and victory but unfortunately many believers has failed to access the divine empowerment God has packaged for them.

In this issue, I will be showing from the page of scripture the true source of divine empowerment and how to access it.

God’s Word

God’s Word is the principal source of power, in fact every genuine principle that produces result must have it root in the Word of God.

In John 1:12, it say But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

It was talking of Jesus, the Word of God (1 John 1:1) – that any man that receives the word of God is empowered

Jesus said that the Word He speaks they are spirit and they are life (John 6:63), this implies that the Word of God is not just words but communicate the Spirit and life of God.

All through scriptures, anytime God’s Word comes on the scene, power to performance is released. In Genesis 1, the scriptures captured the encounter of creation, we understood that God created the earth and its fullness by His Word, my bible said that “God said let there be” and It was

When Jesus the Living Word came, Math 8:16 recorded that Jesus was casting out devil and healing diseases by His Word.

King Solomon during the dedication of the temple, He said in 2 Chron 6:4

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying, (2Ch 6:4)

Do you want to see God’s hand at work, then get His Word, All you need from Him a Word about your situation

In Ezekiel 37, the word painted the picture of a dry bones and God commanded Ezekiel to prophesied to the dry bone, and the Word of God recorded that

Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. (Eze 37:4-7)

Note what Ezekiel said “So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise” Friend, all you need is God’s Word and you are in command, Note Ezekiel didn’t lift a finger, All he did was comply with what the Lord has commanded and things started happening on its own accord

In Heb 1:3, the word said that God upholding all things by the word of his power, Everything was made by the Word of God and by the same Word it is maintained.

Behind every revelation of God’s Word is the power to deliver, In Isaiah 55:10 - 11

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (Isa 55:10-11)
He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. (Psa 107:20)
Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. (Isa 34:16)

God’s Word has all it takes to deliver on the mission, God has sent it to accomplish. When God speak to your situation "Be Calm", then that word alone, that word in season is all you need to be liberated from the situation of your.

In Ezekiel 2:2, the Word said “the Spirit entered into me, when I had him speak unto me” Every encounter with the Word of God is an encounter with the power of God. Once you contact the stories or revelation behind the word of God, you are empowered by the Spirit of God to reflect the validity of the scriptures you have received.

During the ministry of Jesus, the scriptures recorded that

And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. (Luk 5:17)

Please note not as He was praying, but as He was teaching, power was released. Friends, God’s Word is loaded with virtue.

In Rom 1:17, Paul said For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation.

God’s Word is God’s Power.

But Why is God’s Word So Powerful

I want you to appreciate the awesome of God’s Word and that there is no teaching or doctrine of any church denomination that can match with it, because my bible said that in 2Co 13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

In order to understand the supremacy of God’s Word, you must understand also what or Who is the Word of God. This is very essential.

God’s Word is God

In John 1:1-3 – that passage of scriptures say

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (Joh 1:1-3)
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (1Jn 5:7)

God and His Word are One, so anytime you see God’s Word, you are seeing God’s nature. Who is the Word of God, according to John 1, Jesus is the Word made flesh also in Rev 19:13 speaking of Jesus said

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. (Rev 19:13)

In John 14:8, Philip asked Jesus "Lord shows us the Father and that will be enough for us" and Jesus answered saying

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? (Joh 14:9)

So Jesus who is the Word of God is a reflection of the Father, if you encounter the word of God, then you have encountered the Father. You must understand that God's Word among other things is the principal channel that God engages in revealing Himself and Personality to men.

And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.(1Sa 3:21)

Jesus after His Resurrection made a simple  but powerful statement that enthrone the Church

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (Mat 28:18)

Jesus is God, One with God Almighty, the Son of God and ALL POWER AND JUDGEMENT HAS BEEN ENTRUSTED UNTO HIM (John 3:35, John 5:22, Philippians 2:9)

Hear this: when the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, rose up from the grave, He made that statement “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” This means the God’s power is embedded in the Word of God, it’s effect reach all realms of life and endeavours – He said all power not most power, but all power. Thank you Jesus.

God’s Word is one with His Word, anytime you see God’s Word in action, you will see His power in action. Paul speaking said I will come to you in the fullness of the blessing of the Gospel. Since God is all powerful, His Word will also be all powerful because wherever the word of a king is, there is power (Eccl 8:4) and since He is the King of kings, wherever His word is there absolute power.

God’s Word Carry His Life & Nature

The scriptures said in John 6:63

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

God’s Word is above every human information or resource, it supersede that realm. they are spirit and they are life.

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1Jn 5:11-12)
For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. (Joh 5:26-27)

God’s life and nature is in His Word, if you want to become like God, stay with His Word.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (2Pe 1:4)

God’s Word among other things impart His life and divine nature into you, it bring you to realm where anything that can’t stand God, can’t stand you

What I am really saying?

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2Co 3:18)

God’s Word takes you from the human realm to the divine realm.

If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; (Joh 10:35)

Those who receive the word of God are upgrade to the class of god because as many as receive Him to them gave him power to become the sons of God (John 1:12).

God’s Word Commit His Integrity

You have seen from God’s Word that God’s Word is God, God’s Word carry God’s power and His Nature. But there is another aspect of it which is essential. Some times ago in 2015, the Spirit of God popup a question in heart, He asked what makes a man’s word powerful? And He later answered; It is the person behind the word.

When God’s Word is invoked, heaven is committed to perform,

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Num 23:19)

In my little tiny walk with God, I discovered that God don’t speak empty word, He says everything He mean and mean everything He says, He is not a joker. If you want to see God in action, put His Word into action by faith and you will see Him show up.

In Rom 3:4, it says God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar. The only way to get God in your situation is to remind Him of His Word and engage His Word. All you need is to do, is to do what He tells you to do (John 2:5)

This is the reason why I pity some believers when I see them practice certain things that has no scriptural basis in the name of Church practice and doctrine. (Yes, every pastorate has its own doctrine, but every doctrine should be based on the already laid foundation- the teaching of scriptures)

God is not committed to perform because He didn’t instruct it, so therefore He will not perform, most time He shows mercy and answer because of His people’s ignorance (Act 17:30).

For instance, assuming someone met you on certain day and told you that someone told him that you are to give him $1,000, the first question you will probably ask him is who said so and why, you will instruct him to go back to the person that told him that and collect the money from him, because you never made such promise. Even if you will give him the money, it will be based on mercy and pity not out of obligation or commitment.

In the same way, God’s integrity is not committed when you engage in what He didn’t promise or said in His Word. In summary God’s Word is One with God, God’s Word communicate His nature and life and finally God’s Word provoke His integrity. These three points validates why the word of God is powerful.

Truly the God’s Word is the True Source of Divine Empowerment.

In the next series: I will address the role of the Holy Spirit in empowering us and how He empowers us.

Until then, Remain Blessed.
