Activating Your Faith in God's Word

How to Release your Faith

When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. (2Ti 1:5-6)

Every gift of God including our faith need to be engaged or stirred or release before we can experience the power embedded within the gifts of God.

I believe by the help of God’s Spirit, you now understand the importance and role of faith in accessing the power of God’s Word.

Just like the miracle pool of in John 5:4, until it is stirred, the healing virtue is not released. In the same vein until your faith in God’s Word comes alive, you are not empowered to become what the Word say (John 1:12)

In this issue, I will be showing you from God’s Word, how to release your faith for the supernatural

Confession

The principal avenue of releasing and exercising our faith in God is by our words, this the principal way faith is released.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mar 11:23)

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Rom 10:10)

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; (2Co 4:13)

What you believe must match with what say with your mouth else your faith is fake. Faith is of the heart and the bible said that out of the abundance of the mouth, the heart speaketh. So your confession show whether you believe God or not.

You can’t be operating by faith and not know it because it controls what you do and say.

At this point, it is important to know that there are two types of mouths recognized in scriptures:

  1. Your Physical Mouth
  2. Your Inner Mouth

Your Inner Mouth is your thought pattern - that is what you say within yourself. Remember the woman with issue of blood – when she was exercising her faith – the bible said that she said within herself

For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. (Mar 5:28)

Note the word “for she said” but how did she say it - is it with our mouth or within herself – Mathew 9:21 gave us more insight into how she said it.

For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. (Mat 9:21)

Most times, what we say within ourselves is more powerful because God looks at what is inside and not what is outside. Think about it you may compliment someone or pretend with your words of mouth but in your heart (within you) you are saying something contrary.

God said that in Isa 29:13

Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

God is watching at what you say with your mouth but most importantly He weighs your thoughts

So what you believe must determine what you and what you think, you can’t be believing God for healing and be talking healing and thinking sickly thoughts. You must allow the word of God that you have received and believed to change your thinking pattern (Jam 1:21)

Action - Obiedience to the Demand of the Word

Your faith starting with confession, but the authentic proof of your faith is your action. Just as the popular saying “Action speak louder than words

Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. (1Sa 2:3)

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.  (Jas 2:17-18)

Without action, your faith is dead, what you say only commit God but your action provokes God to perform. In Mark 5 concerning the woman with issue of blood, she said in her heart but she was not healed until she acted on what she believed and confessed.

Bless God for confession of faith, but you mustn’t stop there, you must graduate to the realms of action. I normally tell people that information is not power but information acted upon.

Until your faith is proved through your action, God is not provoked to perform. In 1 Sam 1, Hannah went to Shiloh and prayed like other times, but she did something different after she received the words of Eli the Priest

…. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad. (1Sa 1:18)

You have been praying, believing in your heart and confessing. But let me ask you where is your action?

Let me share a brief testimony from my numerous testimonies. Sometime around 2010, it was raining heavy and I had a urgent need to attend to at my house. The Spirit instructed me with a verse (Gen 7:11) to command the year to stop.

I obeyed and commanded the rain to stop but nothing happened but immediately I felt compelled to step into the rain and immediately – the rain ceased – no drop and didn’t rain until I walked home.

I can share many other testimonies from my life and other scriptural stories that validate the importance of your action. Hear this: action is the only authentic proof of your faith.

The bible said that Abraham’s faith was justified – proved by his action (James 2:21-23)

I pray that you will catch this revelation – that faith is action and that your faith is that mercy of your obedience and compliance with the truth you believe.

Many in the church have reduced faith to mere confession, but faith is hard work – your faith mustn’t stop at confession, it must graduate to the realms of obedience in order to provoke the release of the blessings (Deu 28:1)

Graduate To The Next Level Of Faith

From God’s Word, we have identified two principal medium through our faith is released. Your confession release your faith but your action validate your faith and provoke God to make good on His promise.

I want by the help of the Spirit of God to challenge to the next level in your faith walk. It is not enough say it, your action and attitude must show you believe.

Behind every faith that works is the stronghold of obedience and adherence to the Word of God and its demands.

If you carefully study all the faith miracles in Jesus Ministry, you will discover the act of faith at work. They didn’t just claim that they believe what Jesus said, but they also acted to prove that they believed Him. When they acted, power was released.

Let’s examine the woman with issue of blood in mark 5: 25-34.

(25)  And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

(26)  And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

(27)  When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

(28)  For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

(29)  And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

(30)  And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

(31)  And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

(32)  And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

First, the woman heard of Jesus and that erupted faith in her for faith comes by hearing and understanding the word of God (Roman 10:17).

According to John 1:1-3. Jesus is the word of God. Therefore the woman believes in the Jesus the Living word of God. This step is a basic step of faith

Then said in her heart in verse 28

Note when she made her confession in her heart, nothing happen but when she acted on what she believe on the basic of the word of God, power was release which sorted out her case.

In John 2, in verse 7:  Jesus instructed them to fill the pot with water.  Please understand that the Word of God mostly time sound illogical, not scientific but it is the answer, just obey what Mary said in John 2:5.... Whatsoever he sath unto you, do it.

They showed that they believed by doing what He said and He further instructed them to take the wine to the governor of the feast and we all knew what happen.

In James 2:18: you show your faith by acting. Hear me and hear now confess from now till 200 years and your faith lack act, God said that it is dead, will produce nothing.

In Mark 2, four men let down a man through the roof of the building and the word said that Jesus saw their faith [verse 5]. Still that was not enough then He said to the man in verse 11....arise and take up thy bed and go thy way into thine house.

A man of unbelief will have say “Sir but can’t you see I can’t walk and you are telling me to arise my bed. If I can walk, what I am doing here”. No but the man believe Jesus and acted on it and was healed.

It is not enough to believe the Word and confesses the Word, those steps are important but you must place a seal of authenticity on it.

Your confession set the pace for what you believe; but your action put a stamp on it. Refuse to confess yourselves to confusion, instead believe and act your way into victory.
